Looking for peace and
quiet ?
"The gravel road winds to the
left, it´s not too wide, however accessible. Mostly pine
forest, and moss where cranes stop and rest every
spring."
This is how Greta Blomqvist describes
this tiny hamlet in her collection of poems, "People
from the north".
This is also where Ejdekulla lies. This is a place to
relax, to get away from the stress of city life; a chance
to really feel the earth beneath your feet. Our newly
renovated apartment is situated in the heart of the
Ostrobothnian countryside. Our farm, which is adjacent to
the apartment, is primarily a cattle farm, which also
includes a cat and dog.
The cry of the curlew, the whooping of
the cranes, and the singing of blackbirds are just part
of the sights and sounds of another spring here in
Ejdekulla. In summer, the swallows return faithfully to
this area. Autumn brings on a breath of fresh air, as
lingon-
berries and cranberries ripen on the forest floor. Winter
brings with it a peaceful serenity, and the stars at
night are big and bright.
These are ideal surroundings to wind down, relax and
contemplate the mysteries of life
